As part of its ongoing efforts to engage academics, researchers, professionals, students, and the general public in intellectual and rigorous discourse on pertinent matters related to ethics, CILE offers annual Summer and Winter School programs where speakers and participants engage in the critical and interdisciplinary examination of ethical issues triggered by cutting-edge thinking in a range of applied fields of inquiry. Past Summer and Winter Schools have covered topics ranging from vaccination ethics, to ethics and maqāsid (higher objectives of sharī‘a), to maṣlaḥa (benefit/interest) as an ethical concept, and more.
