Held in partnership with KU Leuven’s Leuven Centre for the Study of Islam, Culture and Society (LCSICS), over the course of four days CILE’s Summer School analyzed the global ethical discourses on Covid-19 as well as the secular and Islamic (scriptural, theological and juristic) ethical approaches to the pandemic, providing participants with familiarity around case studies of pandemic diseases and their effects on Muslim societies in medieval, colonial and contemporary times, such as congregational rituals, medical rationing and triage.
