Scholarships
We are diligently working with partner institutions to secure as many sources of funding and sponsorships as possible. Through scholarships we aim to remove financial barriers for young researchers and researchers from low-income countries and to ensure equitable opportunities. Scholarships will support (a) Young Researchers [obtained their highest degree in 2018 or later] and (b) participants from low-income countries. Depending on available funds, scholarships may cover congress fees, hotel accommodation and/or flight. Scholarships will be offered for presenting participants attending in-person in Qatar. Depending on availability of funds, we may be able to extend scholarships to participants beyond the two categories above, such as independent researchers and those with critical health conditions and/or impairments.
Application for scholarships can be found in the Online Submission Form as the 6th and final section of the application.
Students
Current students can apply under the Student category above as participants or apply for the World Congress of Bioethics 2024 Volunteer Program. Volunteers will have full access to the congress free-of-charge, including all panels and keynote speeches. Volunteer opportunities are open for all students from various academic backgrounds, as well as those based in Qatar or internationally. Students must be enrolled in a university degree program, high school students will not be accepted.
If you are a student interested in applying to the World Congress of Bioethics 2024 Volunteer Program, kindly send an email to wcb@cilecenter.org titled “Student Volunteer WCB 2024”. Please make sure to include your full name, affiliated institution, level of study, current academic study program, country of residence and letter of interest. Letter of interest needs to include a brief explanation of why you are interested in volunteering for the WCB 2024 Congress and how it will be beneficial for your study and future plans.
