The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), a member of College of Islamic Studies (CIS) in Hamad Bin Khalifa University, in collaboration with Sidra Medicine, World Innovative Summit for Health (WISH), Qatar Genome Program, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, cordially invite you to the upcoming public lecture titled:

Islamic Ethics & Genomics: Specialized Knowledge as Public Discourse

It will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 7-9 AM, at Sidra Medicine Auditorium.

This public lecture aims to improve both the interplay of genomics and Islamic ethics on one hand and public discourse on the other hand. A number of distinguished speakers will address these issues from national, regional and international perspectives.

The lecture will also remark two important events, namely (1) the kick-off of the research project Genomics, Islamic Bioethics and Public Engagement: Towards Bridging the Knowledge Gaps, funded by the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) and (2) the recently published volume by the Research Centre for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), Islamic Ethics and the Genome Question (Brill, 2019).
