The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE), a member of College of Islamic Studies (CIS) in Hamad Bin Khalifa University, cordially invites you to the upcoming public lecture titled:
Environmentalism and the Ecological Question in the Islamic Moral Tradition
It will be held virtually via Webex on October 13, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm (Qatar Time).
This public lecture broadly examines the so-called “Ecological Question (EQ)” from an Islamic perspective. Without narrowing the EQ down to the exclusive issue of sustainability, this lecture highlights the broader picture by exploring the vast and rich Islamic tradition. Besides addressing the relevant Quranic concepts, the speakers will engage with various scholarly disciplines grounded in the Islamic tradition.
