Dr. Samer Rashwani

He is a scholar of Quranic Studies and Islamic intellectual history. His teaching and research concentrate on the trajectories of the Islamic scholarship on the Quran from the early centuries of Islam on; and investigate new hermeneutical approaches to the Quran. He was a lecturer at the faculty of Sharia (Universities of Damascus and Aleppo), 2007-2011, a EUME (Forum Transregionale Studien) fellow in Berlin 2011-2013. He is since 2013 Post-Doc at the center of Islamic theology, University of Tübingen.
