He earned his PhD in the Quranic studies from Zaytuna College in 2004. He is an associate professor of Islamic Studies in Aleppo University, Syria. Currently, he is a visiting Researcher at Freie Universität Berlin. His major research interests include Quranic studies, religious education and Islamic Modern thought. He worked as a visiting researcher at the EUME (Forum Transregionale Studien), Berlin (2013-2014) and held a number of academic positions in Aleppo. He also published a number of researches in peer-reviewed journals on various trajectories of Islamic studies and wrote several articles in newspapers, magazines and websites.
