Dr. Abdel Moneim Aboul Foutouh
Former Egyptian presidential candidate

Abdel Moneim Aboul Foutouh Abd al-Hadi is widely known as Dr Abdel Moneim Aboul Foutouh. He was born in Egypt in 1951. He is a former presidential candidate (2012) and is secretary-general of the Arab Medical Union and the Director-General of the Islamic Medical Society's Hospitals. In the late 1970s, he was a student activist and a former member of the Brotherhood's Guidance Bureau until March 2011. He was noted among the political powers as well as many Muslim Brotherhood members for his openness, courage and strong opposition to the government. He was the leading figure for a renewal generation inside the Muslim Brotherhood and is currently the founders' deputy and the head of Misr al-Qawiyyah (Strong Egypt) political party.
